Where it all started

This historic document was one of the outcomes of a research contract undertaken by the simulation team at the University of Salford, UK and the European Space Agency in 1980/81. It marks the starting point for the development of the ESL simulation language. Colleagues at the University of Salford are gratefully acknowledged.
